The Nuestra Senora de Atocha was a heavily treasure-laden ship that met unfortunate circumstances on its journey from Havana, Cuba to Spain. The Spanish galleon sank when a hurricane struck off the coast of the Florida Keys in 1622. On board the ship were tons of gold, silver, and emerald treasure, lost to the sea until 1985 when Mel Fisher discovered the motherload. He dedicated his entire life to this wreck and often used the motto "Today's the day!"
